The Design your garden course is an online course that allows you to study at your own pace to learn the basics to designing your own garden. You will be guided stage by stage through the course and will have access (via email) to ask questions of an experience landscape designer.
We teach you the basics of garden design so you can develop a simple design that you can implement yourself or with the help of a contractor.
The course stages include:
1. Garden Review – measuring your garden, sun/shade analysis, existing plants, identifying current limitations and problems – drainage, level change, air conditioning, pits.
2. Basic Design Principles – sun orientation, uses, views,
3. Design Styles – differing design styles and what suits your needs and house
4. Selecting Materials – paving, walls, pavilions, ponds,
5. Selecting Plants – Trees, shrubs, groundcovers, seasonal, color, texture and more
6. Tips & Time Savers – planting times, construction times, ordering materials from garden centers, selecting a contractor or doing it yourself.
The Design your garden course will allow you to confidently design your own garden with some help from your local nursery on plants.
